Torsten Erasmie, slideshow "Views of Vik" (10 pictures)

People have inhabited Vik since thousands of years. On the coastal rise above the village, many finds have been made of hunting and fishing implements from the Stone Age.
Many of today´s buildings originate from the last century. The many streets and alleys were layed out so that one could very quickly get down to the harbour and make safe fishing equipment in the event of an approaching storm.
Because of Vik having been spared from destructive fires, the original street layout and buildings are still intact.
